The hybrid strategy lives or dies on portability
Every CIO says 'multi-cloud', but few really are: moving a workload from one cloud to another often means rewriting it. Cloud Paks tackle the problem at the root, packaging IBM software to run anywhere OpenShift runs.
A common base, everywhere
Each Cloud Pak is a set of operators certified on Red Hat OpenShift: the same image runs identically on-prem, on AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud, Power and Z. No rewrites, no surprises at the next cloud-provider renewal.
Underneath, shared Foundational Services (identity, logging, licensing) give one operating model for all modules.
Suites, not scattered products
Cloud Pak for Data unifies lakehouse, catalog, governance and watsonx; for Integration covers APIs, MQ, App Connect and Event Streams; for AIOps brings AI-driven operations automation. Components that talk to each other, integrated — not hand-wired.
The Virtual Processor Core license is fungible across the suite's modules: activate what you need, reallocate when the need changes.
