RISE

S/4HANA Cloud private edition: the SAP-managed path to the cloud — with everything that still needs governing, and that's where you need us.

FOCUS · GOVERNING RISESAP manages the infrastructure; integrations, data and the project remain yours

01 · What it is

RISE with SAP, made clear.

RISE with SAP bundles S/4HANA private cloud, hyperscaler infrastructure and SAP services into a single subscription contract. Beware though: RISE manages the platform, not YOUR project — migration, integrations, authorizations and data remain the customer's responsibility.

1 contract
ERP, infrastructure and base services in a single subscription
Private
your dedicated S/4HANA instance, on a hyperscaler or SAP data center
Clean core
the required approach: extensions outside the core, on BTP

RISE contractSLAs and scope to read carefully
A subscription is not total delegation

Read the scope carefully

What RISE includes and what it doesn't (integrations, extra environments, advanced DR): the contract must be understood before signing it.

Migration is still a project

Brownfield or greenfield, you bring the data and the processes: methodology and rehearsals, as always.

Clean core & BTP

Customizations move to BTP: an architecture to design, not to endure.

Exit and reversibility

Even in RISE you plan the exit: data backups and clear clauses from day one.

03 · In depth

The RISE scope, read properly

RISE includes the infrastructure (hyperscaler or SAP DC), the S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition environment, HA with a 99.7% SLA (99.9% with options), standard DR with contractual RPO/RTO, and CAS credits for services. It does NOT include: data migration, integrations, authorizations, testing, training, application AMS. The contract is negotiated on FUEs (Full User Equivalents) and the hyperscaler choice determines regions, latencies and adjacent services.

  • FUE — users are counted in Full User Equivalents: the advanced/core/self-service mix decides the price
  • 99.7% SLA — the standard availability (options up to 99.9%): read what's included in the calculation
  • Optional DR — the standard is restore from backup: low RPO is an add-on to negotiate
  • CAS credits — the included Cloud Application Services: use them, they expire
  • Clean core — limited in-app extensions, side-by-side on BTP: the rule for staying upgradeable
  • Mandatory upgrades — release windows managed by SAP: regression testing remains yours
04 · Numbers and lifecycle

The numbers that matter.

99,7%
the base RISE Private SLA (99.9% with premium)
2027
end of ECC mainstream: the date driving planning (2030 extended)
5+2
years per release: each private S/4 version has five-year mainstream
3
the standard environments (DEV/QAS/PRD): extra ones are purchased
RISE pays off if the scope is clear BEFORE signing: we do the FUE assessment, the TCO comparison with on-prem on Power and direct the migration.
05 · Use cases

Where it really pays off.

Those who want out of hardware

The SAP-managed route for those who no longer want to manage ERP iron.

ECC contracts expiring

ECC's 2027 looms: RISE is one of the options to compare, numbers in hand.

Multi-company groups

Strong standardization with central governance.

RISE yes or no is not ideology: we run the real comparison — RISE, on-prem on Power, hybrid — on YOUR case.
