Cloud Protection

Native protection for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud: snapshots, SLA policies and threat analytics on cloud resources — no agents, no backup infrastructure to build.

FOCUS · THE CLOUD PROPERLY PROTECTEDNative snapshots orchestrated by policy: EC2, EBS, RDS, Azure VM, SQL, GCE — and archives that don't cost a kidney

01 · What it is

Cloud Protection, made clear.

Cloud providers' native snapshots are powerful but messy: ungoverned, they become costs and protection gaps. Rubrik orchestrates them with the same SLA policies as the data center: scheduling, retention, cross-region and cross-account replication, archiving to cheap object storage — plus the same anti-ransomware analytics watching everything else.

Auto-discovery via tags

New resources join the right policy on their own: the growing cloud stays protected.

Cross-account & cross-region

The copy outside the blast radius: a compromised account can't take the backups with it.

Smart tiering

Hot snapshots for fast restores, cold archive for long retention: the bill goes down.

Granular restores

File, volume or whole instance, even into another account: the flexibility that actually matters.

03 · In depth

SLA policies on the cloud: how protection is governed

Rubrik connects via cross-account IAM roles (no static credentials), discovers resources via tags, applies SLA policies and manages native snapshot scheduling; copies can be replicated to another region/account and archived to S3/Blob with automatic lifecycle; everything is visible in the same console as the rest of the estate, with the same security analytics and the same compliance reports.

  • Cross-account IAM roles — access without persistent secrets: the model clouds recommend
  • Tag-driven protection — the policy follows the tag: resource creators needn't think about backup
  • Cross-account replica — blast radius contained: the breached account can't touch the copies
  • Lifecycle archive — from snapshot to cold object storage: long retention at sane costs
  • Cross-region restore — restart elsewhere when a region suffers: DR in the cloud
  • Same console — cloud and on-prem under the same policies: single governance

Ungoverned snapshots are costs and risks: with SLA policies they become measurable protection — billed with sense.
05 · Use cases

Where it really pays off.

Cloud-first

For those born in the cloud who want grown-up protection.

Multi-account

Complex landing zones: one policy, every account.

Cost control

Orphan snapshots and endless retention: enough.

The cloud protects itself with the cloud — but with method: we bring your SLAs up there too.
